Some lies begin with the best intentions.

Max Taylor never intended to live a double life. He simply wanted to save his family business. A struggling Yorkshire shoe shop owner, Max is still grieving the loss of his only son when a case of mistaken identity changes everything. Successful lawyer Chrissie believes Max is the paid companion she has booked for a charity event and offers him £500 for the evening. Desperate for money, Max accepts.

What begins as a one-off misunderstanding leads to Max creating a secret second life as Henry Higgins, offering companionship to women who, for very different reasons, simply want someone they can trust to be there.

But Escorted isn't only Max's story. The women already in his life, and those who come into it, become increasingly important as relationships develop, secrets emerge and the lies Max tells to protect his marriage and save his business start to threaten far more than either.
